Hi folks !!
Long time I don't took the time to post some new stuff !! By the way I'm not really in Holiday but very busy on different Steambot projects, that's good !! I'll love to find some time to post some humble researches and doodles.
However, DeusExIII is now released. That's mean I can show some design. I'll try to update in several days.
2 words about DeusExIII.
Barontieri and me was the two first concept artist on this project. (Baron the first, and I jump into the game 3 or 4 month later). We started at the beginning of the project and at the same time, Eidos Montreal started. Deus was the first game of the Montreal studio with all the hope you could imagine. We shared the space with another company essentially composed at 90% by girls but we found the time to draw :). Well, it was a great experience !! Energy and vibes was good. We've created a lot of concept (design) but not really marketing illustration) and I think find some cool ideas.
A personal confidence: The first direction came very spontaneous, consequence of a good team work and synergy. Especially between Barontieri and me. This direction was my favorite (very personal opinion) for many reasons: Credible, artistically speaking more ''Anime style with Manga influences'' + a better Steambot touch'' and very realizable in terms of technology.
Also very minimalist, sober, graphic and elegant. Well, unique and ever seen but unfortunately never been chose (probably too much ''sober'') and totally opposite with the actual Black and gold direction / ''Blade Runner'' style. This direction was really original and unique. That's my only ''regret''. The good point is the fact I have a lot of new ideas and concept ready to be explored.
Anyway, this project was a long story with a lot of rebounds (typical for this kind of big project).
Congrats to all this great team and all the others concept artist for the amazing work they did after us during a couple of long and hard years (Jim, Richard, Trong, Chippy, Donglu, Eric ... sorry if I forgot someone). And of course, I don't forget Stephane D'Astous.
DeusExIII was not an easy project but for sure a very interesting experience. Thx all !!!

Next ... coming SoOoonNnn ...
Cheers,
R
